Vanguard Senior Financial Writer Tony Kaye also takes a closer look at tightening lending guidelines that pay particular attention to borrowers approaching retirement or those with foreseeable reductions in their income.

Lastly, we have included Vanguard's August economic and market update which discusses our forecasts for global growth and recovery, as well as our outlook on asset class returns.
