The just-released ASX Australian Investor Study 2023 shows the number of Australians using exchange traded funds (ETFs) has surged over the last three years. In fact, one-in-five investors on the ASX (more than 1.5 million) now have at least one ETF in their portfolio.
Since the end of 2020 the total amount of money invested into Australian-listed ETFs has risen by over $49 billion to more than $143 billion.
Our lead article this week covers the ASX's key findings around the growing popularity of ETFs and also includes the latest monthly ASX data on ETF investment inflows for May. Investors added a further $1 billion into Australian ETF products over the month.
